Jennifer Singleterry is the Director of National Health Policy at the American Lung Association. She is the primary author of the report Helping Smokers Quit: Tobacco Cessation Coverage, and manages the American Lung Association’s Cessation Policy Project and State Tobacco Cessation Coverage Database. This database is the most comprehensive source of information on tobacco cessation coverage policy available. Ms. Singleterry also leads the Lung Association’s activities related to the Affordable Care Act.
Prior to her time at the American Lung Association, Ms. Singleterry worked for the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies at American University as the Assistant Director for the Public Affairs and Advocacy Institute. She has a B.A. and M.A. in political science from American University. She began her tobacco control career as an intern at the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids.

The American Lung Association has started a project providing technical assistance to the public health and healthcare provider communities on tobacco cessation coverage and health systems change issues. As part of this project, the Lung Association is creating work groups around cessation coverage topics, including: (1) Tobacco cessation coverage in Medicaid, (2) Tobacco cessation coverage in exchanges, and (3) tobacco cessation coverage in private insurance plans.
